Unwind and release deeply stored tension and trauma in this 8 session / 16 hour healing journey.
Jasmin (Soma Yoga) & Jenny (ACC counsellor/Lead provider) have teamed together to bring this Bodymind approach to recovery from trauma to wāhine / women who want to work with yoga and embodiment as a therapeutic approach on their growth and healing journey.
If you feel stuck with physical, mental and/or emotional tension or the effects of chronic stress or trauma, then this 8 session journey may help you to find more ease in your body and life, and to shift out of outgrown habits and into new ways of being.
- Friday 10am-12:00pm
- Starts April 24th 2026 x 8 sessions | 16 hours
- $525 waged / $365 unwaged with ID / ACC ISSC claim FREE (see below)
- No experience necessary
We will explore:
- Soma Yoga
- Somatic Movement
- Pranayama (breathwork)
- TRE / Neurogenic tremoring
- Guided relaxation
- Journalling for self enquiry and reflection
- And education about stress, trauma and the nervous system
Our journey will start of super gently, and we’ll explore different, proven modalities along the way. Our intentional activities will be put together to assist in the release of deep muscular and mental patterns of residual stress, tension and trauma which can be held in the nervous system and the soft tissue and muscles of the body.
Trauma occurs as a result of a single, multiple or ongoing experiences of stress to the person, that the system has not completely processed yet.
With Soma Therapy, we support you to gradually shift symptoms of PTSD, CPTSD, chronic pain, chronic stress, traumatic experiences like physical, sexual or mental abuse, assault, accident or injury, first response work, operations, childbirth, grief, body or sexual shame, disassociation and many other conditions and experiences.
Our program will assist in the cultivation of nervous system regulation and resilience, and ultimately support the development of stronger, more balanced and embodied relationships with yourself and others.
We aim to support the transformation of limitations like anxiety, tension and trauma into whole person strength, mobility and soul connection.
Feedback from previous journeys:
“A rollercoaster! I have processed more in these 8 weeks than in nearly 2 years of therapy. I have been able to identify triggers and break them down so that I have some control and power back over my own body.
I am more pragmatic and optimistic about my future. I feel more able to identify and prioritise my needs and communicate these. I feel like the rainbow is coming after years of storm.” ~ Group Participant Sept 2024
"It helped me a lot noticing more of my patterns in responding when triggered. It was challenging to push past my nerves, but once I let myself relax and trust, it felt very healing and peaceful. Also being one of the younger women here I felt inspired by the women around." ~ Group Participant Sept 2023
"I learned and grew so much over this journey. I feel more regulated and balanced in my day to day activities. I loved learning more about how our bodies NS has a role in everything we do." ~M.S. Sept 2023
"Intense, I didn't think it would work for me as well as it did. I feel like I've only just begun. As a science major, I was really skeptical, and it has been hugely helpful." J.R. Sept 2023
The journeys can be done as stand alone, or as part of a wrap-around approach with other modalities or therapies.
*THIS JOURNEY IS FULLY FUNDED for women / wāhine 18 yrs and above, with accepted ISSC claims with ACC and who are in supported recovery with a therapist or kaitiaki.
