About this Event
This offering is an invitation to engage in a longer practice to slow down in silence and in togetherness to mark the winter solstice.
For Solstice Sunday, I shall start us off with Hatha yoga, which will then flow into meditative breathwork* and Yoga Nidra guided by Cassie. As we return to ourselves after these practices, we shall take part in maunam, silence, to allow the practice to settle within us. Silences can be unnerving, but they can also be restorative, and softening. You might wish to use this time and space to meditate, journal, or make art. We shall have some supplies, but feel free to bring your own. We will end our gathering with some chai, moving from the silence to the warmth of company and conversation.

*Conscious connected breathing can be restorative and restful; equally, if you choose to engage in a more activating practice, it may bring challenging emotions to the surface and offer an opportunity for these to be released.
Given the introductory nature of these sessions, they may not be suitable for everyone. If you are experiencing a particularly difficult time, have a history of trauma or other psychiatric conditions, you may benefit from a 1.1 approach where more tailored input is available.
