Let's come together to celebrate the power of music and raise awareness for World AIDS Day. Don't miss out on this unforgettable concert!
Programme to include Berg's Piano Sonata played by Charles Mutter, world premiere of a piano piece by Michael Finnissy (played by the composer) and a handful of compositions by Dr. Joseph Sonnabend who was an essential figure in the story of AIDS when it hit New York in the 1980s. CDs for sale of Joseph's music and wine /nibbles.
1st half including Berg's Piano Sonata, violin duos by Andrew Toovey and film of an interview of Joseph Sonnabend by Tom Service from BBC Radio 3. 40 mins
2nd half to include a premiere of Joseph Sonnabend and a new piece by Michael Finnissy. Writer and poet Paul Driver will read some of his poems. 50 mins
During the interval there will be a slideshow, showing images of Joseph Sonnabend.
