Boston-based harpist Charles Overton is known for seamlessly bridging classical and jazz traditions, bringing a fresh and captivating perspective to every performance. As both second and substitute harpist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, Overton has performed alongside world-renowned artists such as Cynthia Erivo, Queen Latifah, and Terence Blanchard.
His versatility extends across chamber music and jazz alike, with appearances alongside the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Winsor Music, and the Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia, as well as performances at prestigious festivals such as Yellow Barn, Marlboro, Newport Jazz, North Sea Jazz, and Montreux.
A passionate improviser and collaborator, Overton continues to explore new sounds through projects like Trio Oko and Wild Tapestry, while also writing and arranging his own original music. He currently serves on the faculty of both the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Yellow Barn, inspiring the next generation of musicians.
