Join us this August for our Solo Jazz Summer Courses! Taught by Suzanne Grubham, these courses begin on 1st August and run for 5 weeks. We SOLD OUT last year, so book early to secure your place. You are welcome to sign up to either course, or take part in both courses and select one 'Summer Super Saver' Ticket to receive a discount when booking both classes. Classes take place at St Columba Church in the Main Hall.
7-8pm Level 1 - Open Level: A-Z of Jazz Steps.
In this course you will learn all the basic vocabulary of Jazz steps, but not just the basic steps! Suzanne will go into detail about how the steps should look and feel, giving you a greater understanding of the Solo Jazz moves. You will gain a solid foundation of authentic jazz steps, giving you more confidence when you learn Solo Jazz routines.
8-9pm Level 2 - Open Level: St Louis Shim Sham + improvisation
This is an open level course, although ideally it would be useful if you are already familiar with the Shim Sham and have some basic solo jazz experience. This course will give you the confidence you need to dance solo jazz on the dance floor.
Level: Open level, everyone welcome: from complete beginners to advanced Solo Jazz dancers.
Dates: 5 consecutive weeks starting on Thurs 1st August
