About this Event
Solidarity Singing: Songs From and For Minneapolis
These times are calling for singing!! In the streets, in our homes, and anywhere we gather. Singing is a way for us to metabolize the fear, grief, and rage we all have been feeling in these times, in the safety of a community container. When we come together in song we become louder, stronger, and more beautiful than any one of us!!
What's happening in Minneapolis is a singing revolution!! The songleaders and organizers of Singing Resistance are dear friends of the organizers of this event. We will be singing the songs they have been singing and call attention to the actions they are taking.
ALL VOICES WELCOME!!! No prior singing experience necessary.
Community Singing is a growing movement for all people, all voices. We will sing easy-to-learn songs taught orally, call-and-echo.
Tickets: Sliding Scale $20-40 via eventbrite or at the door. No one turned away!!
Proceeds: After covering costs, proceeds will go to vetted funds for Minneapolis folks as well as our local ICIRR.
Megan Eberhardt is a community songleader and cultural activist currently leading regular song circles at the Old Town School of Folk Music. She also leads Kinship Community Choir and regular community grief rituals, next one March 7th. At the heart of her work is fostering aliveness, belonging, and connection within and among us and with the natural world.
