About this Event
Some of the most meaningful growth happens when we try something we have never done before and actually see it work.
In this guided, hands-on workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of soldering in a supportive, low-pressure environment designed to build real capability and genuine confidence. You will not just watch a demonstration. You will do the work, troubleshoot in real time, and walk away with a finished project you created with your own hands.
This is the kind of experience that reminds you what you are capable of.
What You Will Learn
- Safe tool setup and handling
- Core soldering techniques
- Basic circuit reading
- How to work through mistakes, a skill that extends far beyond the workshop table
What Is Included
- All tools and materials
- Personalized instruction in a small-group setting
- A take-home project that proves you did it
Who It Is For
Complete beginners and early learners ready to step into something new. No background in electronics required. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to try.
We love having young makers in the room! To ensure every participant can engage fully and safely, children ages 12 and under are asked to attend with a participating adult. Both tickets are required, and both of you will walk away with something you built together.
Every seat is intentionally limited so you get the guidance and attention you deserve.
Facilitator Bio
Meet Your Guide: Beyanka Ferguson
Beyanka Ferguson knows firsthand what it feels like to encounter something completely unfamiliar and come out the other side transformed by it.
Her journey with soldering did not begin with a technical background. It began with curiosity, commitment, and the willingness to show up and learn. That experience of building capability from the ground up is what shapes every workshop she facilitates today.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Beyanka's training career launched during her service before expanding into the aerospace industry at Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, where she progressed from assembling basic circuit card assemblies to mastering highly complex boards and ultimately stepping into the role of Technical Trainer. Over 9 years, she has taught thousands of adult learners the precision skills required for aerospace-grade electronics manufacturing, with expertise across numerous specialized soldering techniques.
She brings that same standard of excellence, and a whole lot of heart, to the community workshop table.
"Learning this skill completely changed the trajectory of my life. Seeing that lightbulb moment when someone creates their first working circuit is why I teach."
Through Anchor & Rise, Beyanka is on a mission to make technical skill-building accessible, empowering, and deeply human. No prior experience required. Just bring your curiosity. She will help you do the rest.
