About this Event

Solastalgia: Addressing Climate Anxiety through Community Building and Art-Making is back for its fourth session. This time RAVEN staff and supporters will be coming together to make lino block art and prints.

As always with these sessions, this workshop will start with conversations and prompts to get our ideas flowing and to create opportunities for connection. We will also spend time reflecting and nurturing the ideas and concepts discussed at the previous zine-making, which had a theme of "Collective Action." As we begin the art-making, we will all be invited to express some of our dreams, ideas, hopes, and fears about the climate and our collective futures through carving into the lino blocks and then doing a few prints together.

We will be weaving in ideas of how we can connect across differences and take action as individuals and as a community — we will discuss a multitude of ways we can all participate in re-imagining the future. We will sip tea, share stories, and make space for creativity and connection to see what can bloom from time spent creating together.

RAVEN will provide any materials needed for creating prints on paper, but if you have a t-shirt or piece of fabric you would like to print onto, please bring them along.

*RAVEN’s Zine Issue #1 and #2 will be available in print for those who may want a copy
