SOLARS are an instrumental, Post-Rock, Post-Metal band from Birmingham, UK. First forming in 2016 after the demise of 2 previous bands, Solars came together to make exclusively instrumental music. After seeing bands at festivals such as ArcTanGent with favourites being bands such as Maybeshewill, Russian Circles, 65daysofstatic, Bossk as well as many others, Solars attempted to write heavy, riff based instrumental music, with a sense of melody. After performing one show, Solars became a 4 piece.
Piecing together their first EP release in early 2017, Solars have since gone on to release 3 EPs; A Million Invisible People (2017), Vimana (2019) and Negative Apex (2021), as well as 9 singles in between. 2024 saw the release of their debut album A Fading Future.
Keen to be a part of the Post-Rock/Post-Metal scene, Solars have supported bands such as InMe, Raging Speedhorn, The Physics House Band, Poly-Math, Coldbones, The Stranglers, God Alone, Hundred Year Old Man, Pijn, Hidden Mothers, Copse as well as many many others. They’ve toured various cities in the UK including completing 5 tours since 2023. Solars are making their way around the UK to bring their energetic show to all audiences.

THE GREY have shared stages across the UK and Europe with such heavyweights as Will Haven, Cage Fight, Hippotracktor, Cobra The Impaler, Palm Reader, Conjurer, POUND, Asunojokei, Glassing and Hundred-Year-Old Man.
Festival performances include Bloodstock, Download, Uprising & ArcTanGent.
Live at Bloodstock:

"Amongst the UK’s most 'you-must-check-out' bands, today’s early set feels like The Grey taking matters into their own hands. Off the back of this year’s awesome new LP KODOK, the Cambridge post-metallers seem emboldened again, with a sound swollen to earthquaking proportions. Oh, and to underline the point, old mucker/Will Haven vocalist Grady Avenell is along for the ride, probably sampling his first pre-noon festival performance in an age. There’s a knowing hardcore already crammed against the front barrier, but seeing the uninitiated wandering in with their morning coffee only to be levelled by the wall of sound is the real pleasure. Proceedings might get cut a little short as it is the opening slot, but the epic CHVRCH remains one of the most powerful songs to emerge from these isles in recent years. KERRANG"

"Hightailing it over to the Bixler stage I’m among many eager to catch The Grey this morning. Crowds are hit head-on with a wall of seething riffs from the Cambridge-based trio. Their take on largely instrumental post-metal has both heft and fury, and the band’s work ethic is apparent as they are both sonically and viscerally commanding in their performance. New record Kodok has been on heavy rotation this year and is a superbly structured slab of heavy music with immersive atmosphere and head-banging fuzz. The weekend’s second appearance of Will Haven singer Grady Avenell, this time for a rendition of the iconic “Carpe Diem”, is electric. He joins them for several tracks, and you can feel the energy spark as the vocals bring a cutting hardcore edge to the band’s razor-sharp sonic dissonance. Speaking to the band at length afterwards, their recent graft has been formative. The Grey have planted their flag and the next chapter is going to be immensely exciting. [LMC]"
