Solano County’s General Plan will be updated in 2028. There is interest in incorporating a ‘Healthy Communities’ chapter this time around, which would benefit from a strong local food system, access to healthy food, successful local farmers and more. This Healthy Communities chapter would also hold the county's Climate Action Plan. But how do all these elements come together to support the plan? And how can the public participate in this process? Get answers to these questions and more at this public educational forum with local experts in planning, zoning, food systems and food access. Confirmed speakers include Allan Calder, County Planner, and Olivia Henry, UC Cooperative Extension Regional Food Systems Advisor, with others to be announced.
This event is hosted by the Solano Local Food System Alliance, and will take place both virtually and in person (location to be confirmed). Refreshments will be provided to those who attend in person.
Free/open to the public. Please register; space is limited.
