Berlioz kései operanyitánya, a Beatrix és Benedek izgalmas, dinamikus zene. Elgar Csellóversenye a hangszer versenymű-repertoárjának egyik sarokköve: egyszerre szemlélődő és érzelemgazdag. César Franck d-moll szimfóniája pedig a belga származású francia szerző német komolyságot árasztó opus magnuma. A romantika három arca.
The overture to Berlioz’s late opera Béatrice et Bénédict is an exciting and dynamic piece of music. Elgar’s Cello Concerto is one of the cornerstones of the concerto repertoire for the instrument: It is at once comprehensive and rich in emotion. And César Franck’s Symphony in D minor, flowing with German earnestness, is the Belgian-born French composer’s magnum opus. Three faces of Romanticism. This programme in itself is enough to promise a colourful evening, but it will be made even more vibrant when heard played by the superb Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under the baton of the outstanding Finnish conductor Mikko Franck, while the soloist will be the world-renowned Argentine cellist Sol Gabetta, who has already enchanted the Hungarian audience on several occasions.
