About this Event
Soil: An Interactive Journaling and Poetry Workshop
Participants will be offered a series of gentle writing prompts and may choose to respond through poetry or journaling—there’s no right or wrong way to write.
The workshop provides a supportive environment where you’re encouraged to learn about journaling and poetry, and explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. We’ll close with optional time for reflection, sharing written pieces, and group discussion.
No prior writing experience is necessary, just bring curiosity and an open mind.
About Giovonni
Giovonni is a licensed clinical social worker and creative facilitator who turned her own journey from silence to song into a practice of healing spaces for others. As a multicultural lesbian, Giovonni is dedicated to creating safe and affirming spaces for healing within communities of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. She is a writer, poet, and speaker who finds joy in providing a sacred space that allows adults to connect, heal, and regulate their emotional and nervous system.
As a survivor who found her voice through writing and music, she understands what it means to carry what can't be spoken. Now, she curates trauma-informed workshops where survivors an marginalized communities can process grief, reclaim joy, and build authentic connection.
She believes creative expression isn't a luxury. It's survival. And healing happens in community, not isolation.
