About this Event
The humble tenugui—a simple length of cotton cloth—holds endless potential in shibari and sensory play. In this class, we’ll explore how to use tenugui as effective, elegant tools for gagging and blindfolding, enhancing both control and connection in a scene. We’ll cover practical techniques for safe and secure application, variations in intensity, and the unique sensations tenugui can offer compared to other materials.
Whether you’re a rigger, bottom, or simply curious, this class will deepen your understanding of tenugui’s role in kinbaku, blending tradition with personal expression. Join us and discover how something so soft can create such profound silence.
Solo or Partnered—All Are Welcome
This class is open to solo students, though you'll get more hands-on practice if you bring a partner. To encourage you to pair up, tickets are Buy One, Get One Half Off—bring a friend, lover, or curious cutie and learn together.
We have a limited number of scholarship tickets available. To request one, please email us at [email protected].
INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Meet Ota Kinbaku, a dynamic photographer and rope artisan hailing from the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. Ota's journey into the world of Japanese rope bondage began as an exploration of its captivating aesthetics. In 2015, Ota embarked on a transformative adventure, taking lessons in Japan alongside luminaries like Naka Akira and other esteemed bakushi. This immersive experience unveiled the spiritual essence of rope, unveiling its diverse array of styles.
Fast forward to today, Shibari has become Ota's profound means of cultivating empathy and embracing the art of being present in the moment.
