We’ll layer rich pigments to create a radiant sky alive with warm hues that gently melt into a reflective alpine lake below. This class focuses on blending techniques, color, harmony, and expressive, mark-making unique to soft pastels. We’ll explore finger – blending and paper towel techniques to achieve soft transitions, and luminous effects – you’re welcome to bring a glove if you prefer. Whether you’re new to the medium or looking to loosen your style, you’ll leave with luminous landscape that captures the emotion and serenity of a mountain evening. *If time permits students can start a second piece of similar composition.
All supplies are provided – just bring your curiosity and creativity.
Returning students: if you’ve taken one of my classes, you’ll recognize the thoughtful instruction and supportive atmosphere, while enjoying a fresh subject, new color combinations, and a different creative energy.
This is an adult-paced, focused, art class designed to respect each artist’s time and creative process younger students ages 10+ are welcome when accompanied by a participating parent, provided their genuinely interested in art and able to work independently with a calm, attentive, classroom environment.
