Utilizing hand tools and a torch, our metal smithing instructor Beth Liggitt guides you step-by-step through the design and creation of your one-of-a-kind pendant or earrings. (Rings will not be made in this class). Students will choose their design, fabricate their backplate(s), solder settings and bails as needed, finish and set stones during this 4 hour class. This fun jewelry making workshop is suitable for any level and you will leave with a completed pair of disc or bar faceted stone set earrings or two pendants.
A selection of stones and bronze or copper backplate plus sterling silver bezel material are included. If you chose to upgrade to sterling backplate or would like to add chains they will be available for purchase at the workshop.
While soldering experience is beneficial, this workshop is open to all levels.
All tools will be supplied.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing. This is close-up detail work, please bring any magnification eyewear you would typically use for such work, any personal jewelry-making tools that you prefer to use.
