Mary Jane is an accomplished artist and educator from the Toledo area, and we’re thrilled to have her teaching back at the studio again!
In this workshop, you’ll combine the luminous qualities of watercolor with the rich, velvety beauty of soft pastels to create stunning impressionistic landscapes. You will learn:
How to manipulate soft pastels and watercolor together for breathtaking effects.
When and how to layer colors for maximum impact, along with essential color theory.
Techniques to create depth and atmosphere using watercolor as a base beneath pastel layers.
This workshop is perfect for both beginners and those with some experience looking to expand their skills. Soft pastels are beloved for their vibrancy and expressive qualities, once you experience their beauty, you may just find yourself hooked!
Participants are welcome to bring reference photos if there is a particular scene you would like to create, or choose from a selection of additional photos that the instructor will provide.Everyone will have the chance to complete a finished painting, and all supplies will be provided. No prior experience is necessary.
