Good news:
Soda Water Sea, your favorite 22-person psychedelic rock orchestra, will play Cat’s Cradle Back Room once again Saturday, May 16 at 8pm. This won’t be the same show you saw last year, we’ve been hard at work putting together new songs for your aural delectation. It’s an over-the-top musical spectacle: a big rock band — featuring some of the Triangle’s best musicians — with horns, a string section and a big 8-person chorus playing music of great beauty and spiritual truth.
Why should you come see the Soda Water Sea band? What’s the big deal anyway?
We could tell you that you should come because we play beautiful, original, genre-defying music with lyrics of great beauty and power. Or We could tell you to come because we are some of the best and most creative musicians in the whole dang triangle area.
But the thing that sets us apart, our secret sauce, our magic power if you will, is that we’re a community project, a group effort! We’re twenty average people who make gorgeous sound together. In this cutthroat, atomized world that we live in, a large group of people working towards a collective creative goal is a rare and inspiring thing.
