About this Event
This hybrid day conference is inspired by the findings of a recently completed SPA-commissioned study on Social Policy education and the discussion related to the 2026 QAA Subject Benchmark Statement on Social Policy. It aims to invite feedback on the research findings, promote knowledge exchange on international experiences of Social Policy education and stimulate discussion on contemporary themes.

Morning (hybrid)
· Launch of the research report and discussion on the findings of ‘Co-defining Social Policy and Social Policy Education – Our discipline, our say’
· Presentations and discussion on Social Policy Education in Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Canada and Germany
Afternoon (in-person only)
· Hot-desk SWOT analyses on three contemporary themes: 1) EDI and accessibility for students with disabilities, 2) Generative AI, and 3) Sustainability
The event is free, but registration is required by Thursday, 9 April 2026.
All Social Policy teachers, researchers and students are welcome. A travel subsidy is available for unwaged participants outside Nottingham. Please contact the conference organiser for details.
