The Center for Health Action and Social Medicine invites you to this speaker series co- sponsored by the UC Davis Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of African American and African Studies. This unique series opener brings experts in social medicine to share their work at events on both sides of the causeway in Sacramento and Davis. Events are open to both campuses and the broader community.
Antoine S. Johnson, Ph.D. was born and raised in East Oakland, California. After graduating from Castlemont High School, he attended California State University, Sacramento where he earned his BA and MA in American History. Antoine's dissertation explores Black HIV/AIDS activism in the Bay Area, and he is currently working on the book manuscript for this project. Antoine spends his free time with his family, running, and researching and discussing football and hip-hop culture.
