Host: The Sweet Nothings
Info: The Sweet Nothings is a traditional jazz group from Bloomington, Il led by Trenton Perry on guitar and vocals. The band consists of Allison Thabit on trumpet, Joe Holland on electric upright bass, and Eric Knutilla on his eclectic washboard/suitcase drumset. They are influenced by the music of the early swing period, such as Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Ella Fitzgerald, and Django Reinhardt. They bring fresh, new energy to the genre, and have become a recent favorite of the swing dance groups in central Illinois. They have been described as a mix between The Squirrel Nut Zippers and Postmodern Jukebox.
