Resilience and Wellbeing for Social Business Leaders: Balancing Purpose, Profit and
Personal Sustainability.
Overview
Managing any business invariably comes with challenges. Leaders of social enterprises, in addition to ‘normal’ business pressures, typically experience extra unique tensions related to balancing a desire to maximally deliver on the social mission, versus business and personal needs.
If you manage a social enterprise or community organisation, how do you get the balance of priorities right, and keep the organisation on track, whilst avoiding personal overwhelm or burnout?
Whilst your thoughts might immediately jump to embedding plans, strategies and systems - and these things do matter – a critical factor is ‘mindset’. Your mindset is the collective thoughts, habits, and beliefs that shape every decision you make—from spotting opportunities to weathering setbacks. You will never be able to control everything in your environment, however you can always influence how you respond to it. Actively working on your mindset, is an incredibly powerful way to improve your performance and wellbeing, and potentially that of your organisation – and even better, its free of charge.
What you will learn
This session is not about being or becoming perfect and the complexities of business and life will be acknowledged. We will look at simple ways you may able to improve your own performance and wellbeing, by discussing some common areas where organisational leaders may find themselves conflicted or challenged. You will then reflect on what may apply to your own situation, and where you can take control to help:
• break through any limiting beliefs or behaviours
• maintain personal wellbeing
• build resilience.
Everyone has unique circumstances, so you will be encouraged to reflect on and work with whatever
resonates the most. You will have opportunity to create an achievable a personalised action plan,
preparing you to respond more effectively to whatever challenges may come your way.
