About this Event
This workshop is held in a safe, judgement-free environment. Our instructors help you comfortably come out of your shell using fun, interactive exercises. These activities are designed to help participants build confidence and reduce social anxiety through improvisation. This course is curated and taught by licensed therapist Dr. John Robbins and Best Local Comedian in Best of Utah 2023, Craig Sorensen.
The improv lessons provide much more than laughing with each other! Participants will learn about the power of positive self-talk, how playing is self-care, and some strategies for managing unhelpful thoughts and emotions. And like any of our classes, you just might make a few friends along the way. All folks are welcome regardless of race, gender, orientation, status, age, or ability!
WHEN: Every TUESDAY for 4 weeks starting Tuesday July 2nd through July 23rd
6PM to 7:30PM at Sugar Space Studios 132 S 800 W, Salt Lake City, UT.
OPTIONAL Student Showcase - July 28th, 7PM
This is for students--mixed with the teachers--to perform their newly learned skills for friends and family. Students are welcome to participate or not participate at their comfort level. There is a pre-show rehearsal to prepare for the night included in the full course purchase.
