In her upcoming exhibition at Soapbox Arts, You’re An Animal, McCandless embraces the toolkit of magical realism and the endless possibilities of clay to tackle a range of unpalatable contemporary topics from environmental destruction to socioeconomic inequality. With humor and unflinching honesty, McCandless engages viewers with challenging subjects while reminding us that we're all just animals... and we'd be better off not to forget it.
