About the Author:
New York Times bestselling author Kate Messner is passionately curious and writes books for kids who wonder, too. Her award-winning titles include beloved picture books like Over and Under the Wetland, Over and Under the Coral Reef, and The Whale’s Tale and the Otter’s Side of the Story, as well as novels like The Trouble with Heroes and All the Answers.
She is also the author of graphic novels like Camp Monster, chapter book series including Ranger in Time and Wildlife Rescue, and the popular History Smashers graphic nonfiction series.
A frequent speaker at conferences and schools around the world, Kate connects with readers through her passion for storytelling and curiosity-driven learning. Her books are often selected for community-wide reading programs, including One School, One Book initiatives.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Kate worked as a TV news reporter and spent fifteen years teaching middle school English. She now splits her time between Lake Champlain and Southwest Florida. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her hiking, kayaking, birding, or enjoying bubble tea with her mom.
