Formed during the COVID-19 pandemic in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, So Much Hope, Buried. emerged as a piano-driven post-hardcore band. The lineup includes:
Derek Nowak: Vocals and piano
Andrew Blank: Guitar
Gavin Jacobs: Bass
Eric Novroski: Drums
Their music blends infectious harmonies and heartfelt lyricism, aiming to connect deeply with their audience.
In 2020, they released two singles, setting the stage for their debut EP, “Sentiment,” which was self-released on March 11, 2022. The EP features tracks like “Desert Child,” “Rose Eyes,” and “Slave,” showcasing a mix of heavy melodic hardcore elements and clean-sung hooks. The EP received positive reviews for its emotive playing and positive outlook on hard-hitting topics.
In July 2023, they released the standalone single “Apparition,” accompanied by a music video filmed in a church setting. The song explores themes of grief and longing, depicting a young man encountering the ghost of a loved one.
So Much Hope, Buried. has also been featured in compilations like “The Bitter Taste of Lost Years” by Resuscitation Records, highlighting their involvement in the spirit-filled hardcore scene. They maintain an active online presence, engaging with fans through platforms like Facebook and YouTube.
