About this Event
If you clicked on this link, you're probably aware that Duncan has been a pillar of the Austin comedy scene since arriving driving down from Milwaukee in the summer of 2011 with absolutely no plan. Living rent-free in a poorly air-conditioned sunporch of a college friend, he ingratiated himself quickly by attending the city's then-record six open mics religiously, writing down everyone's name as they were announced, and then making mental notes to befriend the funniest ones. He co-founded the "longest running stand up comedy show in Austin history," SURE THING, with Brendan K. O'Grady in 2012. He made the finals of the Funniest Person in Austin contest a couple of times, back when it was still something people talked about year-round. He's performed on the Moontower Comedy Festival, the now-defunct Fun Fun Fun Fest (where once they confused him with Duncan Trussell and put his name just as large as Tig Notaro's on the poster in 2012), Art Outside Fest, Out of Bounds Fest, and some out of town fests like Limestone, Hell Yes, Trill, and so forth. In 2017 he had a band for a while, he played drums as part of an official SXSW 2022 act, and in 2023-2025 ran a variety show called Fallout Tonight! (note that this farewell show will just be stand up, as much as he loves music and variety elements).
He has been working on a novel lately, and felt the need for a fresh start and decided to head back to Milwaukee to figure out what's next (he has shamelessly decided to include this in the event description to get ahead of this frequently asked question). But first, on Memorial Day eve, he's telling some jokes as an Austin resident one final time! BYOB and come hang out!
