Guest speaker Susan Neylon will speak to CUUC about Smyrna Cares, the organization she founded in 2023. This local charity is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting families who live or work in New Smyrna Beach and are experiencing financial hardship due to crises such as storm damage, illness, divorce, death, automobile breakdown, or job loss. In 2023, Smyrna Cares raised $100,000 and helped 23 families. In 2024, this organization raised $290,000 and helped 74 families. She will demonstrate how Neighbors Helping Neighbors can positively impact the lives of local families by offering support and hope for a brighter future. She hopes that by spreading the word to the congregation, she can not only solicit volunteers and potential donors but also identify potential families that need the service.Learn more at https://smyrnacares.org
