The event will take place at the Bob Hope Theatre within the Owens Art Center, where we will delve into how different forms of creative expression can reflect our faith and enhance our spiritual journey. Silas Farley is the Armstrong Artist in Residence in Ballet at the SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts. Before coming to SMU, Silas danced with the New York City Ballet and served as Dean of the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at The Colburn School in Los Angeles. He has choreographed for and performed in major venues around the country and the world, including the Houston Ballet, the Washington Ballet, the New York City Ballet, the Guggenheim Museum, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Teatro Nacional de Cuba.
Silas deeply believes that his dance performance, choreography, and pedagogy are powerful expressions of his Christian faith. Please join him and a talented group of Meadows performers for an incredible multi-media exploration of faith and the arts, featuring dance, music, film, and reflections on faith and the creative vocation!
