About this Event
We’re excited to share something new we’ve been building at Single Mom Strong, shaped with one group in mind: your teens.
As our children grow, their needs shift. They’re navigating more independence, more pressure, and more questions about who they are and where they’re headed. We’ve heard from many of you that there aren’t enough safe spaces where teens can show up, feel comfortable, and connect in a positive environment. That’s why we’re launching SMS Teen.
This isn’t a night of lecturing or something that feels like school or an after-school program. It’s a practical, welcoming space where teens can connect, relax, and be themselves.
Teens will have the opportunity to:
-Connect with peers who understand their experiences, or reconnect with friends they know through Single Mom Strong or EmpowerME
-Relax and have fun in a safe, structured environment
-Build confidence and a sense of belonging
-Share their voice and help shape what comes next
We’re starting with a simple kickoff event, where teens will:
-Play video and other games
-Use the “content corner” for creativity and self-expression
What you can feel good about:
-A variety of dinner options
-Adult staff on-site throughout the event
-A night "off"!
This is the start of a monthly opportunity, with rideshare and carpool options planned for future events. Most importantly, your teen will be in a space designed with intention, where they are seen, respected, and part of a growing community.
This is just the beginning. SMS Teen will continue to grow with input from the teens themselves, so it reflects what they actually need and want.
If your teen has been looking for a place to belong, to connect, or simply to have a good time in a positive environment, we’d love for them to join us. Register to reserve your teen’s spot.
NOTE: This program is presented in partnership with #SactownYouthNights. While created by Single Mom Strong, youth of all family types are welcome. This must be completed by a parent or guardian before the event.
