Haydn: Symphony no. 93 in D Major, Hob. I:93

Mendelssohn: Hebrides Overture “Fingal’s Cave”

Beethoven: Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21


Founded in 2024 by conductor Kenneth Slowik, the Smithsonian Academy Orchestra is a resident ensemble of the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, a program of the National Museum of American History. The Orchestra’s repertoire ranges from Bach to Schoenberg, all performed on period-appropriate instruments. Hear them perform Haydn’s Symphony No. 93, Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture and Beethoven’s Symphony No.1, on Thursday, November 6 at St. Margaret's DuPont Circle at 7:30pm! SAO concerts are free and open to the public due to the generous support of The Honorable John F. W. Rogers and Goldman Sachs.
