Smith’s Theatre Lab of Horror & Immorality
Are you ready to shatter the confines of your sheltered existence and plunge into a realm where darkness and drama reign supreme for a few electrifying hours each week?
Embrace the chance to become part of a wildly eclectic troupe of performers, who will audaciously conjure and unleash spectacles of scandal, contradiction, and unspeakable horror, all in the grand, grisly tradition of the legendary Théatre du Grand Guignol.
Date: Mondays 18:30 - 20:30, from June 1 2026
Venue: The Red Room at Smith’s upstairs
Any enquiries and registrations can be emailed to: [email protected]
Here, you shall entwine your creative spirit with fellow visionaries and charming rogues, weaving yet another vibrant thread into the rich tapestry of Smiths' artistic legacy.
No prior experience is demanded—only an insatiable curiosity, fearless courage, and an unyielding commitment to the craft.
Discover more by attending an enigmatic evening gathering on Monday June 1, hosted by the revenant Dr Worm, then ponder if this theatrical therapy is the cure your soul craves!
All treatments are free of charge! But beware, places are scarce and coveted.
Meet your ringmaster for this theatrical adventure: Rauny Worm:
Rauny originally trained as an actor and theatre pedagogue, with a side quest in art history in northern Germany. She cut her teeth in circus and theatre as a theatre pedagogue and assistant director, then stepped into the director’s chair for the first time in 1991—in what was then former East Germany.
You might know her as the (delightfully intimidating) former CEO of the Tuggeranong Arts Centre, or as Director of Visitor Engagement at Parliament House and the National Museum. In recent years she’s wandered a little off the straight-and-narrow career path, yet now Dr Worm is joining the team at Smith’s, bringing her professional theatre skills—and her occasionally fearsome cultural superpowers—to help build and launch this eclectic troupe.
