About this Event
Our third year Musical Theatre cohort, plus guest performers from Acting and Drama, give us their final show here at ARU in the form of this gorgeous little known Musical.
Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line) and Howard Ashman’s (Little Shop Of Horrors) rarely performed musical Gem, ‘Smile The Musical’ takes us into the world of American Beauty Pageants. Who are the real winners and losers in this sparkling world, and how far with some of them go to claim the crown! Full of catchy and beautiful show tunes and a book more like a play than a musical, there is something here for everyone. Written in 1986 the attitudes and themes resonate more deeply than ever when viewed through the lens of Trump’s America.
Please note this performance contains profanity and mild nudity with themes of adolescence, mild adult content, and pageant-related exploitation.
Please find other show times and performances on the Mumford Theatre's event page.
