——— NICK LEON (US)
Nick León’s dystopian club music samples the sounds of Florida’s diverse ecosystems, but his style has varied fearlessly along the way. After making his start in the South Florida Soundcloudrap scene at a young age, Nick gravitated early towards the Latin sounds coming out of Puerto Rico and Colombia for his own.
Since this origin, Nick released his highly acclaimed Xtasis EP on TraTraTrax which featured DJ Babatr in 2022 and claimed production credits from genre defying artists like Rosalía, Tokischa and Oklou. His 2024 TraTraTrax released collaboration with Erika De Casier, “Bikini” has been heralded as one of, if not, the best tracks of the year from outlets such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Crack and Resident Advisor.
——— OLI XL (SE)
Oli surfaced with the now cult classic "Rogue Intruder, Soul Enhancer" — his unique patchwork sampling style paired with personal field recordings & shy fragmented vocals, resulting in his now trademark sound, recalling the playfulness of Basement Jaxx as much as humorless glitch.
These days his influence can be heard and seen everywhere — But after signing to iconic label Warp, Oli was nowhere to be found. Talk about why the label was stopping Oli began to spread, with fans flooding comment sections with "Free Oli".
After a 4 year label struggle, the much-rumored album "Lick The Lens" took its first step with Part 1 (out of 3). Self-funded, and joined by Chanel Beads, Ecco2k, James K, Ouri, Part 1 refined on everything that made his debut a classic, while somehow still sounding years into the future.
Now free, Oli is sharpening the blade for Part 2.
