Smerz at Institute of Contemporary Art Boston

Smerz is a Norwegian experimental pop duo consisting of Catharina Stoltenberg and Henriette Motzfeldt. Their name is a shortened form of herzschmerz, the German word for “heartache.” After releasing their debut EP Okey in 2016, they signed to XL Recordings. 2021 saw the release of their debut studio album Believer.
