What is required of you:

• A laptop (optional)
• Phone that shoots in at least 1080p-4k to get the best quality possible
• Filmic Pro ($2.99 per week; please reach out if you need assistance with the app.)
• Enough storage on your phone to complete tasks
• Be present and ready to learn!

Info: Everyone come in, get settled, and introduce themselves. We want you all to network as well as learn.

Info: During this time we will discuss the best types of phones to use, video apps that are available, and add-ons that help make shooting on your phone that much better. We will be working with Filmic Pro for this course which is required. Filmic Pro is $2.99 per week.

Info: Learn about script writing, crafting characters, and creating compelling stories. Homework at the end of day 1 will include creating a short script that is between five and 10 pages.

Info: Get a breakdown of what it takes to set up a successful shoot from beginning to end. We will cover all bases to make sure the process is as smooth as possible.

Info: Learn how to set ISO, shutter, and aperture based on different environments and lighting to get the best shots. Also learn some framing rules and how to get a visually pleasing shot.

Info: There will be snacks and refreshments available here. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch or go get lunch.

Info: We will work with a pre-half written script and fill it in to prepare to shoot on Saturday. We will look over the script and characters, and we will make changes where necessary. We will also walk around to get an idea of a shot list. You all will also get a chance to see the actors and view demo reels.

Info: Feel free to ask any questions and get clarification on anything you may need help with.

Info: We will go over any questions we had from the previous day and discuss the days events.

Info: Prepare the location and equipment, go over the shot list, and learn to communicate with actors to get them prepared.

Info: Start shooting script.

Info: We will wrap up shooting the short film.

Info: Organize files to prepare for editing.

Info: We will go over editing software for phones and laptop as well as discuss free and paid alternatives. We will also play around with a few different software.

Info: We will go over any questions you all may have.

Info: We will meet up and go over any questions from the previous two days. We will prepare to edit.

Info: We will break the editing process down into categories to make sure your short film has everything it needs. Take breaks when needed.

Info: During this time, we will add our finishing touches.

Info: We will watch each other's short films and answer any questions you all may have about the process. We will also discuss marketing and promoting your short film.
