Learn about Perinatal Mental Health Disorders with a focus on the unique needs of families in Shasta County and other rural communities.
About this Event

This 1‑hour Lunch & Learn, presented in collaboration with Postpartum Support International (PSI), provides an overview of Perinatal Mental Health Disorders (PMHDs) with a focus on the unique needs of families in Shasta County and other rural communities. Participants will explore the connection between PMHDs, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and the risk factors impacting perinatal mental health outcomes. The training will define PMHDs, core symptoms across the perinatal period, which includes the unique presentations of fathers and partners. Participants will learn evidence‑based treatment options and local and national resources available to support pregnant and postpartum individuals and families. Emphasis will be placed on increasing awareness, early identification, and culturally responsive support within rural systems of care.
