This presentation provides an overview of human trafficking, including what it is, how it appears locally in Shasta County, common red flags, and tactics used by traffickers. It also discusses populations at higher risk and the role of trauma-informed medical settings in responding to concerns.
About the presenter
Brianna Wissusik is the Medical Safe Haven Patient Advocate at Mercy Family Health Center in Redding, CA. She focuses on trauma-informed support, making sure clients can safely get the medical care they need, and linking them to the right community resources. Brianna has earned her bachelor’s in Social Work from Chico State and is a certified Lay Counselor.
