About this Event
As part of the initiative, cityLAB-UCLA and Genesis LA are excited to launch a new Request for Information (RFI) focused on developing missing middle housing on privately owned land. This information session, hosted on Thursday, May 7th from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at the AIA Los Angeles space on West Adams, will give an overview of the RFI and offer an opportunity for interested architects and developers to connect with the iniative organizers and each other.
This new opportunity extends the direct impact of the Small Lots, Big Impacts initiative to target the significant development opportunity that exists on private land in Los Angeles. The RFI will require teams to identify their own privately-owned sites and development programs. Through the RFI, selected Development Teams will receive a robust financing package covering up to 95% of total development costs, including land acquisition, predevelopment, and construction.
The RFI will be released May 7th, with applications due June 12th. Please note that this opportunity is distinct from the forthcoming Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on public land, which will include a set of approved publicly owned sites.

We would like to thank BMO and LA4LA for their financial support, and the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office and the City of Los Angeles Housing Department for their partnership and guidance. Funding for Genesis LA’s Small Lots, Big Impacts Homeownership Innovation Fund is generously provided by JPMorganChase through the 3C initiative.
