Small Group AT AT Classes: Alexander Technique helps to free patterns of tension and begin to access your underlying support. Train your kinesthetic coordination and experience more effortless and efficient movement. Classes may include ‘hands-on-work’ with the teacher, movement explorations, developmental movement exercises, group discussions/observations and individual activities.

We will awaken our sensation and imagination to dance inspired by our use of space, shape and time in relation to others. Improv scores will range from solo, duet to group invitations informed by Suzanne's research in Viewpoints, Lower Left's Ensemble Thinking, Action Theatre, Laban and Butoh.

Suzanne Liska (MFA Dance Choreography, Certified Alexander Technique Teacher) specializes in choreography, performance-as-research, somatics, dance kinesiology, East Asian dance/theatre and solo/contact/ensemble improvisation. Her artistic and scholarly practices are shaped by her diasporic mixed-Asian Canadian cultural background and somatic dance theatre practices. She is thus committed to exploring the interrelatedness of mind, body, and identity and the role of movement in questioning, inhabiting/embodying, and transforming intergenerational reverberations. Suzanne has received grants and awards through CCA, TAC, OAC, York University and SSHRC; and is contract faculty for York University’s Dance Department and George Brown College’s Theatre School. www.suzanneliska.com
