Please join us for our Annual Community Gathering on Sunday, February 1 from 4:00–7:00pm, at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (1924 Cedar Street, Berkeley).
This is a chance to come together as a community, connect & reconnect, reflect, suggest and plan for the future! (And eat some delicious things, too!)
This is a chance to come together as a community, meet our new leadership team, reconnect with fellow Slow Foodies, and reflect on the past year of Slow Food East Bay’s work — and, just as importantly, to help kick off the year ahead.
We’ll share highlights from the last year, introduce our new leadership team, and create space to hear from you. We’re eager to hear what’s exciting and concerning you about our local food system, and get feedback for where you’d like to see Slow Food East Bay focus next — including who we should be championing and partnering with for future programs and campaigns. And as usual, there will also be opportunities to learn about volunteering and other ways to get involved.
We’ll be gathering potluck-style, so please bring a dish to share if you’re able — homemade or purchased from a local producer, sweet or savory, simple or seasonal. We know it’s the end of the weekend, so no pressure to make anything fancy.
The event is donation-based with a suggested $5 contribution, and all collected fund that evening will be donated out to an on-the-ground organization doing work in the food system. We’ll be voting as a crowd that evening and will announce the beneficiary before we break for dessert.
