SLOW CAMERA EXCHANGE INDUCTIONThe Slow Camera Exchange is a creative initiative established in 2021, administered by the Cork Film Centre and partnered with Cork City Library. Its activities include the borrowing library of analogue cameras, community engagement initiatives, an artists’ camera club and a research strand around sustainable photography processes. It aims to support broad participation in photography and through this participation to support wellbeing.
This induction session available for artists and photographers with some analogue photography experience
Criteria
Experience in analogue manual photography
Completion of a course in analogue photography
Confidence in key areas of analogue photography
It necessary to access the Slow Camera Exchange collection of equipment.
During the session, participants will be presented with the cameras available through the Artists Collection,
The induction will
-introduce the cameras of the camera collection.
-demonstrate the use of the cameras
-give you a chance to see how to open, load and shot with the cameras
-discuss the printing process exploring the options of sending negative off to be processed printed, scanning negatives to digital format or the dark room process.
- give opportunity to ask questions.
We will also give a brief overview of the Expert Collection and Art Facilitator Kits.
The next induction session will take place Saturday November 2nd 12-3pm at Cork City Library, Grand Parade Cork
