About this Event
Today in Utah, about 445,000 people are facing food insecurity and do not know where their next meal will come from — including 1 in 5 Utah children. That means far too many of our neighbors and classmates are uncertain whether they will eat today, and these challenges have serious consequences for physical health, mental wellbeing, academic success, and long-term opportunity.
Every child deserves a great future, and a great future starts with a healthy meal.
During the Silicon Slopes Summit, we are inviting organizations, individuals, groups, and families to join us in packing healthy meals to be distrubuted to families in Utah.
Whether you sign up for one shift or a few, we need your help to make a meaningful difference for people in our community.
Please note:
- We are at the Salt Palace again this year in Halls 2&3 (combined).
- Tickets: You can reserve up to 50 tickets at a time (if you need more than 50 tickets for your group, please be sure to register multiple groups of 50).
- Please arrive a few minutes early to allow for check in.
- You do NOT need to be a Silicon Slopes Summit attendee to volunteer.
- Please come at your scheduled time. You do NOT have to present your ticket at the door.
- Directions: To get to Halls 2 & 3, enter the Salt Palace through the South Temple Entrance.
- There is parking available in lots adjacent to the Salt Palace. There are also other options like City Creek's parking structure (reasonably priced) and Delta Center-adjacent lots (more expensive)
***If we meet our goal for packing meals ahead of your scheduled session, we will notify you via email.
