Who is this suitable for: Any over 16- This course is perfect if you have sewn before or if you have attended the some beginners workshops & would like to extend your sewing skills further- there are options for the internal pockets to match your skill level, your tutor will advise you on this.
What you'll Learn & Make: extend your sewing skills to create a lined sling bag, choosing from 4 sizes. Choose to either bring fabric from your stash, dressmaking remnants or buy fabric on the day. Webbing, interfacing & bag hardwear are optional and also available to buy if required. Choose from a range of options for your bag to suit your skill level; plain & simple, Patch pockets, welt zip pocket, adjustable strap with slider etc.
Please note the bag dimensions in the photos section, I recommend cross referencing them with an existing bag you have & having a size chosen in readiness for the workshop, this will also help bringing/buying the correct amount of fabric required for the sizes you choose. I recommend canvas, 8oz denim or corduroy for the outer & cotton for the liner, these weight fabrics won't require interfacing but if you choose a lighter outer you will also need to stiffen the fabric.
If you have booked to bring your own machine please bring along your zipper foot.
The timings of this workshop should enable you to complete the bag within the session but each person will work at a different pace so please be aware you may have tasks to complete after the session finishes.
