About this Event

Join us for this amazing multi-peak adventure in the Mourne Mountains!

This hike can be completed as a stand alone, but it also forms part of our 7 𝙎𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨

Check it out ..Full details below ⬇️

Also an excellent training hike for anyone completing the Mourne 7 Sevens or Mourne Wall One day challenges.

On Sat June 13, 2026 we will gather at Bloody Bridge Park Carpark to begin our EPIC journey taking in the 2 highest peaks of the majestic Mourne Mountains, which form part of the famous 7 Sevens.

Join us for an unforgettable mountain adventure as we take on the two highest peaks in the Mourne Mountains. Our journey begins at the historic Bloody Bridge, where we’ll follow the rugged trail through the old quarry at Crannoge , winding our way upwards alongside mountain streams and exposed granite slabs. We will step back in time to the days when tjis quarry was used for the famous Mourne Granite.

From here, we link up with the famous Mourne Wall, steadily ascending towards Slieve Donard—the highest summit in Northern Ireland. The climb is challenging but rewarding, offering sweeping coastal views as we approach the iconic water tower.

After taking in the panoramic vista, we’ll descend to the Donard–Commedagh saddle before making our way up Donard’s “little brother,” Slieve Commedagh. Standing as the second-highest peak in the Mournes, Commedagh offers a quieter summit and stunning views over the heart of the range.

Our descent takes us along the legendary Brandy Pad, also known as the Smugglers’ Trail. This historic route was once used by smugglers transporting contraband brandy, silk, tobacco, and other goods from the coast at Newcastle deep into the Mournes and beyond. Walking this ancient path, you’ll be following in the footsteps of centuries of secretive nighttime traders and mountain rogues.

We return to Bloody Bridge along this scenic route, completing a loop rich in challenge, beauty, and history.

This is a moderate/advanced hike which will require a good level of fitness and a bit of determination. We will take it at a pace suitable for everyone and will support and motivate you every step of the way.
