About this Event
sleaze ball is a love letter to the era of bloghouse, electroclash, and indie sleaze of the early aughts as well as the latest resurgence of those respective genres today. combining elements of music, dance, drag, and entertainment, sleaze ball was born out of the desire for a party or event that brought hipsters, indie rockers, and weirdos together to celebrate the monoculture of indie/alternative music through a queer lens and experience.
this time around we're warping through time & space …15 light years into the past … to 2010: a sleaze odyssey
prepare for blast-off into a supernova of iconic moments: from lady gaga’s extraterrestrial vma meat dress to snooki’s gravity-defying bump-it and the celestial sounds of recession pop gods and goddesses ke$ha, rihanna, katy perry, usher, & jason derulo orbiting alongside indie constellations like vampire weekend, arcade fire, lcd soundsystem, sleigh bells, & two door cinema club… drift through a black hole of viral phenomena: bed intruders, double rainbows, sillybandz, angry birds, instagram, & chatroulette… & into a nebula of black swans, gleeks, vampires, runaways, pretty little liars, & gossip girls
make sure you have your skinny jeans and lita’s on under your astronaut suit and as always come ready to get sleazy… but this time through the cosmos
