Dyscalculia (a Specific Learning Disability in Mathematics) is characterised by an innate difficulty in learning or comprehending mathematics. This includes difficulties in understanding numbers, learning how to manipulate numbers, and learning basic maths facts. These difficulties are unexpected in relation to a child’s age, level of schooling and other abilities.This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the defining features of specific maths disorders and will focus on the functional impact of dyscalculia, demonstrating effective strategies for use both in and out of the classroom.
