How these colors were chosen: Yellow is related to the ego and our sense of self-worth, to how we feel about ourselves and how we are perceived by others. It can make people more mentally, analytical and self-critical of both themselves and others, prompting the value of self-reflection.
Maps often use a color ramp to represent elevation ranges, with lighter colors indicating higher elevations and darker colors indicating lower elevations. The tan color meaning is similar to that of brown – the color of earth, wholesomeness, home, grounding, and foundations.
