Come read to our SHINEsters and help us celebrate National Reading Month
Be a Reading MVP at KIPP SHINE Prep!
We're hosting our annual Slam Dunk Read-A-Thon and we want YOU to come read aloud to one of our amazing classrooms! Whether you're a parent, grandparent, KIPP staff member, or community partner; if you love reading, you belong here.
Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2026
Time: 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: KIPP SHINE Prep
Cost: FREE
What to expect:
- A warm welcome from our principal, Ms. Morris, in our Zen Den
- You'll be assigned to one or two classrooms to read aloud to students
- Conversation prompts and materials provided — no prep needed!
- Light breakfast and refreshments
- A SHINE MVP certificate and group photo
- Optional: Visit our Scholastic Book Fair and network with other guests after your session
Important: All volunteers must bring a valid photo ID.
We'll be in touch after you register with your classroom assignment and all the details you need.
