Optimo and Slam play back to back for the very first time. Open to close in the basement at Oran Mor in Glasgow's west end. Sunday service from 6pm in the crypt of an old church too.It's remarkable to think that this is in the first time ever in their dual histories that Slam and Optimo have played back to back together.
Firm friends for decades (Stuart, Orde, Dave and Jonnie first met when they worked in a famous west end pub together during the acid house explosion), Slam and Optimo, although both deeply rooted in underground electronic music, took their own unique paths.
They have rarely even been on the same line ups despite both outfits touring globally for such a long time.
Recognising the absurdity of this, Dave set about turning the Optimo b2b Slam into a reality …
