Fusion Dance..is a type of free-style partner dance combing styles, methods and music from many different dance and movement modalities that places expression, connection and consent at its core.
Fusion Dance with Skye is for everybody with or without partner dance experience or partner. We switch dance roles and partners. You can join at your own level of capacity, experience and comfort.
Financial contributions of 10 Euros for Regular Entry, 15 Euros for Supporter Entry and 5 Euros for limited Low Income Entry help us pay for venue, facilitators and Djs.
Location & Timings: We dance at Papillion Studio Ostkreuz Gürtelstraße 25 near Ostkreuz. We are on 1st floor (no lift) in the second room (Saal II), which means that we have to cross the first room with other on-going dance classes. Enter the first room quietly and immediately turn right through the door into the second room. To reduce disruption to classes in the first room, we ask you to: Turn up on time, cross the first room quietly as one group from the changing rooms and avoid staring at the dancers.
18:00 Entry to Fusion Dance Workshop, inkl. warm-up, fusion dance fundamentals, alternative movement and relaxation techniques, body work, connection exercises.

19:30 Entry for Social Dancers, i.e. non-facilitated solo/partner/group dancing with anybody who's there. Ask each other to dance, check in about preferred dance roles and accept yes/no/maybes <3

Fusion Dance...is a free-style form of partner dance drawing on lots of different types of movement, dance and music. Imagine it like ballroom, but without gender roles or set steps. Instead, we take the very tools that make dancing together work, like momentum, groove, pulse, stretch and compression, and co-create the dance within ourselves, with our partner(s) and the music. You can dance solo, in pairs or in a group. You choose how fast or slow, how close or spacious you wish to dance. Consent plays a major role in Fusion Dance.
Fusion Dance...is ever evolving, hence, there is no firm definition. It depends on who you ask and more importantly, it is what you make of it.
Fusion Dance...is about choice. In each class, we make a choice to focus on one aspect. This does not make the alternatives wrong. Focussing on one aspect can develop tools, vocabulary and many fun ways of playing and interacting on (and off!) the dance floor.
My teaching is informed by radical body positivity, freedom of choice, consent, authentic relating, embodiment, and partner dances such as Blues, Swing, Contact Improvisation, Tango, Zouk and Latin. I am a health and development psychologist and a movement, dance and intimacy facilitator.
Collaboration: Please get in touch if you’d like to teach, DJ, co-host, or collaborate in any other way like decorations, snacks, tidy-up, promotion, etc.
